One thing I have learned is that sometimes both sides can be wrong. I posted this earlier today in response to Brumar's post about comparing climate skepticism to “creationism” in the classroom. I think they're both faith based systems and responded:

"Don't worry about it - schools can barely teach the basics of reading writing and arithmetic. They're more likely to have the students rebel and become proper Christians. It is funny to see two faith based systems square off against each other. Just further proof the government should stay out of education."

I like this Glanvill quote.

"The belief of our Reason is an Exercise of Faith, and Faith is an Act of Reason." Joseph Glanvill

G.K. Chesterton arrived at the exact same conclusion, or perhaps he was writing after reading Glanvill.

"Reason is itself a matter of faith. It is an act of faith to assert that our thoughts have any relation to reality at all."
