I heard this being discussed by two talking heads on CNN yesterday.

The Tea Party candidate was Perry. But he never rose to the top after actually entering the field. He was on top before declaring. So the Tea Party has already, yet again, suffered a humiliating defeat with the departure of Perry.

Right about the time Perry was fizzling, the Tea Party set its sights on Chris Christie. But Christie has endorsed Romney, someone that the Tea Party is opposed to. So there goes another defeat for the Tea Party.

Wonder how many defeats is enough for them. If they prop Jeb up, he is not going to go against immigration like Perry. Recall Perry's line on immigration: Have a heart.

So the Tea Party needs to fold honorably at this point.

I just know that as you implied, Americans CANNOT stomach another Bush in that office...

Jeb would have been a much better president than either GWB or his father.. You are right those of us that decide elections will not vote for another Bush in this lifetime...

The amazing thing is he has a great shot at being the frontrunner for 2016 if Obama gets reelected. So imagine a Bush vs Clinton race for the ages and to cement one family as the true dynasty for our times?
