One has to remember this is SC. It is a lot of small towns with Baptist culture--enough to influence politics.

Yep, been watching that. I'm certain the Romney folk are telling themselves it's early, very few actual delegates are at stake here. And so on. But he's clearly sowing a certain image of himself, which he may well reap in future primaries.

It's fascinating how quickly Gingrich turned things around. My best guess is that it's much less about Romney's loose hold on his voters and more about the coalescing of the anti-Romney crowd around fewer and fewer candidates.

Interesting how none of the pollsters got Newt's margin of victory right in advance. These primaries are all about late surges now.
