<<Now what do you see that's "great" about her>>>

Great question, but first to why you compared her to Hitler and evil. Any writer that wrote as prodigiously as she did, people will be able to find things that if taken out of context with the intent in demeaning her - will succeed. I'm still waiting for something evil that she did. .........Now if you are a fundamentalist Christian, then yes of course her atheistic views could or would be considered evil. But that's only to their religion. To the best of my knowledge I know nothing that she did that in any way could be considered "evil". Even her Objectivist philosophy is just laid out there for you to believe or not believe. She doesn't try to impose her belief on you as do religions. But I do understand that the left hates her almost as much as the extreme religious right does.

What is great about her; ........Her success was her own doing. She came here penniless and was able by her own efforts to be by just about any measure, a screaming successful writer. Her level of philosophical thinking was at a level most of us can't even get to. To create a philosophy - Objectivism - that has withstood the test of time, whether you can agree with it or not, is a remarkable accomplishment. Even for those like yourself who seem to have disdain for her, should be able to come to grips with her level of thinking that opens discussion and spawns thought and debate. I didn't say she was "great" as you imply, I said she was a "great thinker" and to that end she absolutely was. ...........I'm not a great fan - but I do sure think she brings issues to the table worth discussing.
