The article is too long, and reads like it was outsourced. There's very little new in it.

I was tempted to reply to this, nothing personal Glenn, but you know a short reply is 8 or 9 paragraphs which I wrote but didn't post. A decent comprehensive reply is several pages and involves politics and philosophy.

but has nothing to do with Apple...

> “If it’s the pinnacle of capitalism, we should be worried.”

I was worried about this way back in the early 70s, and of course, everyone thought I was a crackpot for contending this would happen. Preposterous they said!!! But it was predictable. It was predicted by a famous politician in the early 60s. It was more than predictable... it was inevitable given US politics. I love to talk about this stuff but you can't do it without politics AND history so I won't.

But once again it IS NOT APPLE'S FAULT. It has nothing to do with investing in Apple other than public relations which I do not think matters much. Everyone knows all corporations outsource everything now.

A response borrowed from another site:

FoxConn barely makes a profit, and this after long running currency manipulation and government subsidy. That's why it will never exist anywhere else.

Being generous, you could call it a type of loss-leader for China, at worst a way for an authoritarian state to enrich its elders.
