As for the jobs, that message doesn't resonate to people who don't care about jobs.

As for "big bucks for Big Oil", the companies producing the oil in Alberta are part of "Big Oil" and they'll benefit even if it's exported to Asia. "Big Oil" operates in an international environment and most large inteernational oil companies make most of their sales and earnings outside the US.

Where does the Alaskan oil go? And how does it get there?

The US. By ship. The Congressional act that allowed the Trans Alaska Pipeline to be built required oil going through it to come to America.
