We have one other politician on the national level with similar fighting skills. His name is Allen West. I have great hopes for him.

A Gingrich/West ticket would thrill me, imagine both the presidential AND VP debates.

unclewest...............my husband has been saying for a long time that Gingrich is the only one with the qualities of a General in the field. The only strategic thinker, one that knows how to wage war, the one that understands there are many battles to be fought and knows how to fight them. He also says he's like the white Joe Frasier of politicians, just exactly what we need in our next president.

Along with him and Allen West as VP, we'd have a team that could straighten up America and set us on a long term solid course for success.

He also suggests when/if Newt becomes president, he names Ron Paul as chairman of the Federal Reserve, and therefore work himself right out of a job. ;)

By the time I saw your message it already had 11 recs, and I added mine.

It's been a long process, and like you I think we need a junk yard dog fighter to deal with the sassy press and the great teleprompter reader. I also agree about Allen West and can't wait for him to go big time. I would also like to see Herman Cain politically resurrected. I don't think the allegations about him were ever fully evaluated. I sort of blame his wife because she didn't say "He didn't do it" she said "That doesn't even sound like him." If he DID do it, just put up every issue against Bill Clinton and it pales.

Those who favor others on our side and almost all of the Obama contingent say both of them have too much 'baggage.' I find this laughable, because they dealt with their baggage honorably and it's behind them now.

The only person without baggage is Obama because he has all his in a giant gunsafe so nobody can see it.

Well said!

Take a close look at Gingrich's features, his style, his wisdom and his wit. Give Gingrich a bowler hat, a cigar and a vest and you have a potential new Winston Churchill who once said, "You have enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something in your life."
.....
When John King and CNN tried to start a fight with Newt, they succeeded. Newt obliged, accepted the challenge, and cleaned their collective clocks right there in their own house. The more King spoke in those first 5 minutes, the more Newt hammered him and CNN. I don't think King or CNN will ever be the same.

I'll add to the Recs others have sent @ #22....Neeka posted earlier on GITS a speech from Churchill....It is as apt today as it was then.....We were fighting WWII then, and for our lives. Today, we are fighting again for our lives....will it be Marxism/Socialism or Liberty?

The voters of South Carolina said of Gingrich what Lincoln said of Grant: "I cannot spare this man. He fights."
