Under 5% unemployment in my town. Liberals established the permanent fund fighting conservatives every step of the way.. Right wingers did not want a big government program taking 25% of all oil money and putting it away for the kids. We liberals won the house for a few years and forced them to do it by tying everything up in committee until they gave in (and gave the oil companies some big tax breaks-republcian extortion) and then put it in the constitution requiring 3/4 of both houses to touch the principle. We were led by a liberal Lincoln type Republican poet, bush rat governor Jay Hammond from Naknek And we give everyone a dividend check from the revenue of about $1,300 a year. And we legalized pot-lol.
