Today's Globe and Mail - p. B12 has an interesting article concerning gold...here is some info from it:

The World Gold Council said yesterday that it was wrong to think that the world's central banks were dumping their gold holdings.

In the past 2 yrs., there were only 3 substantial sellers (Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands) , leaving 177 central banks around the world that still think it is a damn good idea to hold gold.

The lending of gold by central banks is now an important factor in the equation....this is a new factor many people still do not include in their analysis of the market contributing to the present low prices.
