Oil and Gas revenue taxes for the two states:

Alaska: 2.52 billion dollars
Texas: 3.30 billion dollars

State Populations:

Alaska 710,000 people
Texas 25,145,000 people

Per capital State revenue from oil and gas:

Alaska $3,550
Texas $131

In Alaska you get $3,550 dollars per person per year from oil and gas royalties, whereas in Texas you only get $131 per person per year.

Texas has three main oil and gas taxes: a 4.6 percent oil production tax, a 7.5 percent natural gas production tax, and a 3/16th-of-one-cent tax per barrel of oil produced in Texas. Oil production and regulation taxes are expected to generate $2 billion in fiscal 2010- 11 and $1.9 billion in fiscal 2012-13, according to the comptroller. Natural gas taxes are expected to generate $1.3 billion in fiscal 2010-11 and $1.5 billion in fiscal 2012-13.
