I think Apple set the bar high enough at $38 billion in revenues for the analysts to set reasonable EPS for the quarter at $10. Don't forget that Apple is deferring 10% of iPhone revenues each quarter. It might limit some of the near term earnings upside, but it also keeps them from falling much below $38 billion next quarter.

All I know is that Apple will be more fairly valued this quarter with 30 million plus iPhone sales at $426 than they were last quarter at $420 with 17 million iPhone sales. Sequentially, I see less room for a pullback this quarter than last quarter, so I'm sitting tight with all my shares this quarter.

Perhaps the most interesting point for Apple is that this will be the first quarter they can outearn GOOG for quarterly EPS. Google only had $9.50 in earnings last quarter and Apple will probably earn more than $10. Why is Google trading at $585 with $9.50 in Q4 earnings when Apple is at $426 with $10 in Q4 earnings? The $500 price targets for Apple are looking more and more realistic this year than the middle of last year, thanks to the quantum leap in earnings this quarter.

Apple is just as cheap as MSFTor GOOG on forward earnings estimates this year at 10 PE. I still think Apple has a lot more growth this year than any other big cap tech stock. This only "risk" to the stock I see at this point is that Apple has the highest market cap. But, they have earned every bit of their growth so far. It would be a different situation if Apple were trading at 25 times earnings with a $1 trillion market cap today.

I think anything over $11 is good, $12 is real good. The mean analyst estimate is 10.08, the high estimate is $11.45. The indies are around $12.
