Hey, I resent that Fred. I have been consistently advising a long term quarterly dollar averaging position. I reprint my first post proving your statement inaccurate:

Rick,
We are talking money here, widows and orphans and the like. You must offer more reason to hope than a low price. QDEK rose on an earnings turn around to the plus column. It crashed on lowering margins and then a return to the negative column.
Unless management can come up with new products, or better upgrades, this company is going no where this year and maybe ever. Microsoft gives things away for free. That kills competition. When the competition is dead Microsoft charges for upgrades and technical support.
That being said, there is hope that QDEK can consolidate its aquisitions and come out with some excellent suite type products. A 2nd generation WebCompass would be a plus. A Memory manager that improves speed would also help. Rumor has it that the MagnaRam beta has shipped and is fast. We shall see.
Jesse

So, you see I was not that bullish in 8/96. I have always said I am quarterly buying. I warned a break under 2 1/2 would be bad news. I warned others not to buy above 2 3/4 but wait until a break above 3 7/8. I am only recently wrong saying buy all you can a t 2 1/4- 2 3/8. And, I am not that wrong as I said for a long term play. I am right that the company survived chapter 11 and is releasing many new products.

Outside of doing some Beta testing, and I can never reveal a beta test, I have no relationship with Quarterdeck except as a share holder. Any information I post is public information or my opinion based on same. I am a professional who dabbles in the market and I got this crazy idea to follow one stock and invest in it only so I can learn the cycle as you only can following one stock in great detail. Since I started buying in 1995 at about 10 and top buy was 21, I am a net loser, except for the experience. I figure my current basis is <8 these days and I hope to turn a profit at the end of my study amd use this experience for the next 30 years of my life, if I live that long. If I don't, I have a good life insurance policy for my wife and kids. So, I assure you, I am honest and believe what I say. I am sincerely yours, QDEKAHOLIC #1.

PS I'm either totally wrong, despite my specializing in Quarterdeck, or this really is the opportunity of a lifetime. A $2 stock being held down artificially, with great prospects. I grant you, the company should put me on the pay roll because I want this stock to go up and look for the positive. However, I try to be objective while being a fan. In fact, I just got on Curt Hessler's case (by e-mail) about technical support. I told him if you are going to be the RealHelp people make sure your support staff is up for the job or you will be decimated in forums and usenet newgroups.

Now, get out there and buy some Quarterdeck products or download CleanSweep Deluxe and tell me it is not a great product if you can.

Jesse just stepped out for a coffee allow me to answer in his stead; Jesse Livermore is really Harmon V. Quarterdeck the eccentric reclusive multi millionaire who founded and sold the company one year to the date before the collapse of it's shares under highly suspect circumstances. Harmon 'Jesse' has become a regular poster out of guilt and misguided concern for those individual shareholders who lost a fortune. He means well but he is to be taken with a grain of salt. At times it appears he knows what he's saying but if you were to go over the bulk of his posts as I have done, you would soon see he really doesn't have a clue.
