What's more, it looks like the Vancouver real estate juggernaut may have finally hit a bit of a "speed bump"

Only a finite number of Asian muligenerational families willing to pay a million plus for a humble abode. I've heard they were still strong in certain desired hoods around NYC pushed prices back up to near the top of several years ago..

Even years ago it was pricey ... My wife's uncle and aunt sold 50 acres near Owen Sound Ontario to move out closer to their kids on the mainland (Burnaby) ... They ended up in Nanaimo as the mainland was just too pricey.. so ironically they aren't that close...

Skied whistler last February.. was drooling over the thought of a Squamish abode .. I would not be so keen on closer to Vancouver proper.. :O)

What has surprised me is the lack of job growth in the city. Even San Francisco is growing jobs albeit very slowly. I thought there would be a lot more tech/biotech in Vancouver than there is.

Given the beauty and popularity of the city among Canadians, Chinese and Americans, why do you think job formation is so anemic? Its something my German friends and there Canadian friends couldn't answer.
