Your response was typical of those wielding a shallow education. The first thing you do is make it personal. The second thing you do is take gratuitous shots at anyone you dislike--living or dead. By the way, I did not expect you to assume that I advocated the ideas of any particular people on that list. You miss the point if you believe that education means confirming your prejudices and ignoring new ideas. For instance, I do not agree with the ideas of Marx, but if you have not read him you are an intellectual beggar. I admit I took offense at your cockiness in dismissing a major thinker without having read him. I dislike gratuitous opinions when they are uninformed. I do agree with you that the OED is a must-have. As to Plato, yes...an essential study. But I am in complete disagreement with much of his thinking. And you have a right to agree or disagree with anything you choose. You are also completely free to ignore my suggestion to inform your opinion before giving it. And if you think my sharing my opinions with you is "attacking" you, then so be it. I suggest you re-read both your posts. Sorry you chose to feel hurt. Enjoy the cave...
