Everybody's Right - $50M before tax/$35M after tax.

According to 9/97 quarter end report:
Taxes 36,463/IBT 140,241 = 0.26 Tax Rate

Also $35M charge/172M shares = 0.20 charge

This just about equals the writedown by
GRUNTAL SAYS CUTS QUANTUM 1998 EPS ESTIMATE TO $2.51 FROM $2.70 (Reuters 11/19/97).

Hopefully this is all we need to expect. By the way Zacks is carrying FY98 at $3.01 avg. before the latest charge was revealed either way this should be at least a 15x earnings canidate - 15 x 2.51 = $37.65.

We can only hope - Right!
