New issue today:

from briefing.com:

OYO GEOSPACE CORP (OYOG) 15 1/4 +1 1/4: Another offering from the oilfield services sector hits the market. A deal that a month a go probably would have commanded a 10%-15% premium to its $14 offering price and would have soared on its first day of trading, is limping along this afternoon with an intraday gain of only 9%. Over the past two weeks, the oilfield services/drilling sector has been trending lower as Wall Street professionals seek to secure profits in this high-flying group. As investors have stepped away from the more seasoned issues, IPOs such as IRI International (IIR 17 3/4 +3/8), which priced at $18, have suffered. Today, shares of seismic data processing equipment and instruments maker OYO Geospace have posted a modest gain after pricing on the high-end of the $12-$14 expected range. On an intraday basis, the stock has traded as high as $16.50 a share, after opening at $16. The two million share common offering was led by Rauscher Pierce Refsnes.

Description: OYO Geospace designs and manufactures instruments and equipment used in the acquisition and processing of seismic data. The company has been in the seismic instrument and equipment business since 1980, and markets its products primarily to the oil and gas industry worldwide.

Shares Outstanding: 5.09 mln (excludes 410,000 shares issuable under the company's stock option plan).
Revenues 1996--1997: $30.88 mln-- $41.05 mln (+33%)
Earnings-Per-Share 1996--1997: $0.25--$1.66
Price-To-Sales: OYOG= 1.48; Eagle Geophysical (EGEO)= 1.13; Industry= 4.45

Alan, I have long since come to the same conclusion about RDC and other drillers; I thought your comments were poking fun at the media and their never ending desire to make market moving comments; however, I didn't sense the satire in you comments....very long day. Thanks for clarifying.
