<<I see --you are saying he's is following some preprogramed internal psychological emotional script--not something outside forces have handed, him and that is why, in your terms "he's not thinking for himself".

Everything in the end is an opinon. In psychology they differentiate between task oriented people and ego oriented people. Been 45 years since I studied this stuff. But as I remember, the point they were making is that some people live their life according to a script e.g. culture, religion, something else, while others live their lives more according to what they learn from the outside world of ideas.

The pope lives his life according to a very strict script as do the Amish and orthodox Jews. I think that is ego oriented.

But Einstein rejected all of convention, and constructed a personal philosophy from scratch. As much as any person can. He would have called himself a secular humanist. While he rejected the religious tecahings of the Jews, he did sort of embrace the Jewish tribe, but that is just normal. We all need to have some sort of tribe.

I see the world like Einstein did (without his brains-lol) i.e. I don't really folllow any script. My ideas come from all the people I have studied in my life. My tribe would be the liberal tribe, I guess. But as that is an existential tribe, it is pretty wide open-lol.
