He knows that, rnsmth. He was making a joke. ;-)

If you count only the last quarter's earnings, Apple's P/E is presently around 32. So that would be the trailing three months p/e ratio.

Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. has launched a new round of patent litigation against Apple Inc. , suing over technology used in the iPhone 4S and the iCloud backup service.

Motorola Mobility's (NYSE:MMI) latest action comes as it awaits regulatory approval for its $12.5 billion acquisition by Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG).

The suit in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida accuses Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) of infringing on six patents.

Motorola also sued Apple over patent infringement in Florida in 2010.

Google's acquisition comes as rivals in the smartphone market bulk up their patent portfolios to better wage an escalating legal war.
