No, I'm NOT comparing my marginal to his effective. If you read my post, you'd see I said my EFFECTIVE tax rate is 20%, which is an apples to apples comparison to Romney's effective rate of 14%.

And btw, I used to be a CPA and know few things about taxes. So I don't need the explanation, though, thank you for updating the thread on the logic your provided.

The bottom line is that all of that notwithstanding, Romney can afford to pay more and he should. The biggest beneficiaries of this country need to stand up and help because the country needs their help now. Tax revenues are part of the equation to getting to a balanced budget. This idea the GOP has that tax increase are all bad is just stupid. Both Reagan and Bush Sr raised taxes, rightfully so. We need to do it a gain.
