Gingrich also trained a lot of young Republicans to carry the torch of freedom in support of Reagan.

This was 100% true in Northern Virginia across the Potomac from the White House.

Many of those young Republicans are a little older------they were Teenage Republicans, Young Republicans that go into their early 30's at that time and the 30 to 40 year olds who managed the grassroots for Reagan. They are a little older and they vote and many continue to fight for freedom.

what people dislike about Mitt Romney. He unleashes his attack dogs in a coordinated effort to tear people apart...............his enemies..............just like he unleashes his minions to destroy average people's lives by bankrupting the companies they rely on for their livelihoods.

Neeka, that is just ridiculous.
It's a ludicrous and dishonest Dem talking point that extends to all capitalists, not just Romney.

Michael Reagan, who I consider one sharp cookie, just endorsed Newt on Megan's show. He blew off the Abrams criticisms as a misunderstanding of what transpired that was illuminated by subsequent events.

Neeka

I am fascinated by Mitt Romney's saying he was an Independent when Reagan was elected in 1980 and 1984.

What does he mean by that?

Does he mean he did not go to any of the Republican Party Meetings in support of Reagan and Bush at that time?

If he did go to the meetings did he abstain from supporting either Reagan or Bush.

If he did not participate, then why did he not participate?

He now wants the Republican Party Nomination for 2012--------when did he decide to align with the Republican Party and stop being Independent? Is Romney still an Independent?

There was a small group of nay sayers who were anti the mainstream social issues that the Republican Party along with Reagan put in its Party Platform in 1980. As I recall, it was Margaret Chase Smith who was leading that group------which did not identify with Reagan and the rest of the Republican Party.
