Governor Robert McDonnell was elected in 2010 along with Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and Lieutenant Governor Bowling------all are Republicans. The Virginia General Assembly is now predominantly Republican.

This was the same year Republicans took the House of Representatives away from Pelosi and Obama.

Virginia has been building the Republican Party since President Ronald Reagan was elected in 1980 to where it is today.

The Virginia Republican Party no longer holds its meetings in a telephone booth as some of the old-time Republicans said when Reagan was elected and defeated Pres. Carter.

Some believe that the Virginia Republican Party may have made a huge mistake in not allowing all of those who debated to be on the coming Primary Ballot. The only two candidates on the ballot are Romney and Paul.

That means that Romney will likely carry Virginia in the Primary as he and Paul are the only two on the ballot.
