RW, I thought I'd make this post to you, since you always think I'm so gloomy. This isn't a reversal. Rather, I'm seeing new data coming in during January which is making me test my forecasts for the immediate future.

Good for you. Investing isn't something you make a decision and that's it. You have to be totally open and agnostic, and just measure the prevailing wind.

As to the Fed, yes they are acting very cautious. They have two problems. One it's been a God awful recession and they don't want to stomp on the green shoots. They know the markets need some optimism to get the engine running better. Second it's an election year and the Fed is supposed to be above politics. So if they raised rates the D's would scream "you're killing the economy". More quantitative easing and the R's will scream "you're pumping juice to get Obama reelected" (which, in essence, is what they're saying anyway).
