Well, they clearly were not high school age in central Texas in the early 50s. ;-)

As for being a "dork" I'm not perfectly clear as to its meaning, to them.

Having said that, I probably should reread it one of these days to see just what sort of reaction I now have. I only recall sort of swallowing it whole in one reading.
