It's a mistake to think that men define the lives of women as though women are mindless reproductive agents of men. What men and chimps have historically done is conduct genocidal warfare against the males of other tribes, with the women joining the victors. That still leaves scope for women to be selective and mobile. Rape and abduction are not large determinants of human reproduction, even after genocidal war. When armies met on battlefields, they were men. The vast carnage was of men. The new-fangled idea of Private Jessica Lynch performing manly warrior feats of murder were not part of the scene. And as Jessica Lynch herself says, it wasn't actually part of the scene for her either. Mqurice
