The fellow who advises our mortgage says he's going to go with a second mortgage on his house when he retires.

Personally, I do not trust the whole idea at all. It seems like a good way to get in deep doo doo.

Dave Ramsey doesn't like them either.

I don't know anything about the cost of payback, but that would be a big issue as far as whether to take one out or not. I think people over 65 are much more disciplined than the average person, although there are always exceptions. Someone here said these loans are "very expensive."

You're shooting the messenger. I don't hold it against Fred Thompson or Robert Wagner for doing commercials............they're just trying to make a living. I see Fonzie is even doing them now.
