Original est, I believe were for $.79 this Qtr (see:
quote.yahoo.com

I subtracted the $.20 from the post below from Harley Morgan. That left $.59 for Dec qtr (assuming they hit estimates). Also, and without any attitude, can someone please look at my post #4826 and comment on the assumptions in it. I know I used 10X PE and some feel 15X is more appropriate, but I wanted to be at the conservative low-end of the traditional multiple range. I am open to redirections/comments/other opinions as long as they are fully explained and backed up.

Here are the calculations for subtracting $2.0 from this Q:

Everybody's Right - $50M before tax/$35M after tax.

According to 9/97 quarter end report:
Taxes 36,463/IBT 140,241 = 0.26 Tax Rate

Also $35M charge/172M shares = 0.20 charge

This just about equals the writedown by
GRUNTAL SAYS CUTS QUANTUM 1998 EPS ESTIMATE TO $2.51 FROM
$2.70 (Reuters 11/19/97).

Hopefully this is all we need to expect. By the way Zacks is carrying FY98 at $3.01
avg. before the latest charge was revealed either way this should be at least a 15x
earnings canidate - 15 x 2.51 = $37.65.
