Japanese haven't JIT and TQM processes on the business side of their compnaies..
if they did then compnaies would have to lay off 100,000's of people.
plus they don't deploy technology on the business side either.
to lay off is to lose face..so, you are right it's a cultural thing that needs to change.
I've had 3 or 4 Japanese upper management people tell me the lose face issue....so I beleive it.
That stigma would have to change.
