I agree, GZ. Newt rambles...a lot! He seems to easily lose focus and meander around the subject when certain issues become uncomfortable to him. In contrast, Romney is typically very presidential and on point. I admire how he defend his wealth, business practices, and condemned Gingrich's attacks on him as an "anti-immigrant". I especially liked the way he called out Gingrich after Gingrich attempted to smear him by asking how much wealth he earned as a result of housing foreclosures. Romney didn't flinch and quickly asked Gingrich if he had examined his own investments and if he was willing to disclose the money he made from housing foreclosures. That shut Gingrich up fast.

Gingrich is a lot like certain liberal Republicans who throws stones from glass houses. That always fails badly! LOL.

Seriously, Gingrich looked like a complete loser once again on the immigration issue. Even the Hispanic community and its leaders have called him out on it.

Bottom line: Gingrich is a man with a lot of baggage and few conservative ideas. I can't imagine him hanging around much longer. The best he can do is to continue to try to smear Romney and cast himself as favorable by comparison.

Re: "I think Newt shot himself in the foot last night..."

Well, there's that possibility....

(And also the fact that Mitt and his allies have out-spent Newtie 10-to-1 on attack ads in the Florida markets. <g>)
