Buddhism or Hinduism are better and he hasn't actually as of yet converted to Islam, but most people have their belief system established by the time they are middle aged. They may become more or less devout as they grow older, but they already have a baseline. He obviously doesn't know who he is and never has.

first of all, he hasn't converted, second, he's just indicating (to me at least) a 'connection' to islam based on the exposure he had...iow it seemed almost 'inadvertent' ....it's not like he was saying he was on some type of quest.....what does makes sense is that after losing his wife so tragically he might consider 'losing his religion'

dunno....i don't think he was making much of a comment politically if that is what you're inferring
