interesting you should post that - I just sent this email out regarding Chapman's oil/gold conversion for India/China and Iran - ballpark figures, but eyeopening - did I screw up?

"1 million barrels at $100/barrel = $100 million per day. At current prices, we’re talking

almost 60 thousand ounces of gold per day = roughly 2 tons of gold per day. "

"if China and India spend 2 tons of gold per day for crude oil"

WORLD OIL CONSUMPTION - The IEA forecasts the world will use 91 million barrels of oil per day in 2012

WORLD GOLD PRODUCTION - 2 500 tonnes in 2010

LETS USE 100 MILLION barrels oil/day for round number sake SO THE WORLD NEEDS 200 TONS/DAY of GOLD

200 tons x 365 DAYS = 73,000 TONS of GOLD per year.

Am I way off on my numbers and conversions?????

I luv it..... someone just pulled the lynch pin out of the whole world economic system.

TJ, do not get to infatuated with some nicely packed slivers of metal which can be ruled inadequate for personal or collection or trade or any other use by any arbitrary administrator.

Gold may had true value several hundred years ago but it is passé those days when government run by mediocre people put their trust in printing presses. With the strike of a pen it can be confiscated and put only for industrial use and illegal to hold. Was done before and from many millions it was confiscated only last century.
