Income inequality is like poison to a healthy social structure.

income inequality provides incentive to work harder or smarter. the knowledge that one can earn more, means that people will learn advanced skills to get ahead. a labor force that has advanced skills means that our dollars are worth more (minus the cost of inflation).

Allen West Tells Liberal Leaders To "Get The Hell Out Of The USA"
Posted on January 28, 2012

"Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America," Rep. Allen West (R-FL) said at the Palm Beach County Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner. West represents the district in the U.S. Congress.

Income inequality is like poison to a healthy social structure.

Income inequality is the most desirable economic charactistic of a healthy social structure. It provides the motivation for all to strive for better. Without inequality, everyone would be poor.
As long as individuals have the opportunity to move up the ladder inequality is good. Over the past 35 years, I have moved from the bottom qtr to the top 5%. In retirement, I will move back down somewhat. I did it the old fashioned way, hard work, self-improvement and delayed gratification to build up capital.

"Here is the irony of your post. I am saying there is no god given law that is how the tax structure should be set up; and you are then explaining why there is-lol."

I sometimes you speak a different language. Your suggestion was that there was no rationale for a different rate for capital gains taxes, I was simply pointing out that there was a reasonable rationale.
There is nothing in my comments that suggest anything absolutist.

At least in my language that summarizes my understanding of the situation.
