IE4 bugs. Market forecast for the next month.Dear William, OFF Topic###### Are you experiencing many lock ups and errors with IE #4? Glad to see you back and a sage word of wisdom please as we await earnings yet again. Yes, IE 4 does have many bugs, and I'm not sure when Microsoft is going to fix them. It was reported at C|net, but I don't have a direct link to the article. I'm still using Netscape Communicator mostly, so my personal experiences with IE4 are limited. IE4 did seem a bit faster, but I still like Communicator better. BTW, for those of you still using Communicator, the new 4.04 version is faster and better than the 4.03 version. Well worth the download. You can download it directly, right here (for Windows 95): download.com Did anyone notice that this month's pattern seems to be the same as September's, down the 1st 2 weeks of the month, and then the 3rd week surge? I believe the market will be up for the 1st couple of days this week and then it will stay flat or decline again toward the end of the month. This pattern after options expiration has repeated itself for the last 4 months or so. Let's see if it does it again. December is historically the best month of the year for stocks, but I don't expect it to be this year. Let's see if the pattern repeats itself in December. If it does, the best time to buy calls is a week and a half before December expirations when they're really cheap. I lost on all my options that I bought at the end of October, but made up for it by buying more JBIL last week at a lower strike price. I'm going to be more cautious this time and wait until the 2nd week of December to buy December calls. If the ride up starts earlier and I miss it, I'm not going to worry about it. The market doesn't look real strong right now, and I'm willing to bet that the pattern we saw this month and in September will repeat itself. Even October was similar in that it wasn't up in the 1st 2 weeks of the month as it usually is. October differed only in that we didn't have that 3rd week surge. So let's see what happens. In regards to Dell specifically, the stock may rise right before earnings, but I don't think it will be much. I don't think it will get back to 100 this year, and I do think it will decline again after earnings are reported unless they are truly spectacular. Dell won't be able to stay up if the rest of the market stays flat or declines, which is what I think will happen. Suggestion to all: Rather than type OFF TOPIC at the top of the message, just write what the topic is, so that people can decide if they want to read it, even if it is off topic. That's what I did in this post, writing my main topics at the top for those who are just reading the headlines to determine if they want to read it. It saves a lot of time. I couldn't possibly read all the new posts everyday, so I just read the headlines for anything interesting or informative. I'm still not going to be here much. I just don't have the time for more posts, so keep that in mind when posting to me.
