WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) fired up his conservative audience in West Palm Beach Saturday, telling President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to “Get the hell out of the United States of America.”

West made the comments at Palm Beach County GOP's annual Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach, and it was broadcast nationwide on CSPAN.

“This is a battlefield that we must stand upon. And we need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and my dear friend, chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table.

“Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America. Yeah I said ‘hell.’”

Then West, a tea party favorite, vowed to fight to keep Florida a "red" state for Republicans.

I wish there were a more objective way to redistrict.

There is. The mathematical concept of compactness is well defined. It produces districts which minimize the maximum distance between any 2 residents in each district. I believe Iowa uses some form of it, at least for Congressional districts.
