I recall first time I was in Hanzhou, a rather attractive young woman in very nice, classy, western attire stepped out of a small street side shop.. made a loud rasping sound with her throat and let go a huge gob of spit.. without looking any which way.. and then continued on down the street. In no way did she seem in distress, ie choking or whatever... Was a little appalling actually.. Then again I see younger girls here on the way home from school routinely spitting into the street..

must be globalisation ...

hard to see how HKers can be dogs and thieves for that.. preachy ? sure.. but if someone lets their dog carp on my property... I get very preachy too...

New Zealand will be pleased to supply vegetables, rice, water, cheese, holidays where there is clean air and tradable citizenship for an escape from the barbarians: < Mr. Kong warns Hong Kong residents who think they their morals are better than the mainlanders’: “Don’t have anything to do with us. We will stop supplying your water. We will stop supplying your vegetables. We will stop growing your rice. You can grow it all yourself.” >

King Kong in Beijing mistakenly thinks he has them cornered. He can kill the goose that lays the golden egg, but that would not be good for the people who supply Hong Kong.

Beijing is bubonic. There might be somebody there who is honest. Obviously King Kong is not that person.

With shipping costs so low, it might be economic to ship bulk water from Fiordland to Hong Kong, not just bottled drinking water.

Diplomacy is still a considerable art form among the world's Vladimir Putin's.

Hmm.. maybe the beginning of a cultural propaganda war between jealous mainland chinese and HK residents..

And possibly the result will, one day, lead to a "cultural revolution" against HK to quash the threat they pose to Bejing's power.
