To tell a teenager he is out of money will bring pain and austerity to his life unless he changes his habit. To give states billions and not require them to change is useless. Obama gave away billions to pay off his supporters - and now the money is gone. More money without change? Not only no but hell no!

Krugman does not recognize the fatal flaw in his logic, In a debt money system people need borrowing power to buy to stimulate the economy iin ever increasing amounts. When they can't take on more debt it doesn't matter how much money is available people can't afford to borrow more because their earning power will not support more borrowing. We have borrowed trillions to pursue this stupid policy and increased our debt to mind boggling numbers. Krugman needs to go back to kindergarden to learn how to count.
