republicans are reacting to the script that the progressives/MSM have written for them. Maybe it's the inherent nature of conservatives versus liberals. conservatives tend to focus on the individual. liberals tend to focus on the collective Liberals don't mind falling in line behind a leader Conservatives would rather make their own way If liberals are ants or killer bees Conservatives are the loan beetles (or whatever other non-communal insect you choose) It's just going to be harder to get a bunch of GDIs (gosh darn individuals) to agree on a direction than it is a bunch of people who see the collective as the ultimate goal.
