Because the major universities all respect him and he can work anywhere, MIT, anywhere, he has a nobel prize and he is the 4th most referenced economist in the world. As well, Stiglitz and most other top economists respect his work and put forth the same theories. Stiglitz is the most referenced economist in the world and also a nobel prize winner. so what if everyone respects him? you're making a classical logical fallacy mistake. you're appealing to authority. if you can't make his argument in your own words, you don't know the subject. i don't mind that you state that krugman agrees with you. i just want you to state the argument in your own words so i can debate you, not krugman, who can't answer me. When Einstein put forth his theory of relativity it was the word of half a dozen of the top physicist's in the world like Max Planck, Max Born and others that convinced the world it was correct. and none of them appealed to authority to do so. In fact only about half a dozen people at first could even understand what he was saying. he made his own argument, didn't he? You can get an idea by what teh other great minds respect. when you learn math, you can't agree with what a great mathematician teaches, you have learn all stuff yourself. you have to put in the work to be able to understand. you said the analogy was false, and you still can't say why.. When Nietzche read Doestevsky he said tears came to his eyes as he had found a brother. sappy emotionalism doesn't mean crap. Lot so them are known well, like Plato, Einstein, Bertrand Russell, Whitehead, Mark Twain and Will Rogers-lol, today Steven Pinker. being well known has nothing to do with it. it doesn't make your argument. One just has to work on it. you don't seem to.. By seeing what other great minds think. again, all you're doing is accepting what others know. it doesn't mean that you know a damn thing. zero summers bring eternal winter expanding summers bring few falls and zero winters.
