I think the Mormon church is trying to counter the elite media hostility that came after the failed California gay marriage proposition. Are you referring to Proposition 8, the California constitutional amendment that banned gay marriage? The one that the voters of California approved in 2008 by a vote of 52.3% to 47.7%? The one that was overturned by a gay California federal judge? If that is your reference, your definition of "failed" is different than mine.
