Legally and morally, what you have done doesn't constitute a good faith effort to pay the debt. That's what the record presently shows. It's all there in your posts, in black and white. You can't run away from it. Everyone can see what you are doing. Legally and morally, your responsibility does not end when you put the check in the mail. It ends when the person to whom you owe money gets the money. Ask a lawyer if you don't believe me. Yeah, I'm sure you'd love to drop the subject now.
