I'd like some backup here, but I think that DELL has insisted that their components be built to order. This is why they have not had inventory problems, and can keep costs down. Also, their quarter ending a month later than the others will help them in this respect.

re: market share in the under $1000 dollar segment is approaching 50%.

It was 70% last quarter so CPQ is down 20% in marketshare.
I am expecting it to go to 30% this quarter under the pressure of competition from Packard Bell, IBM and HWP.

GTW apparently has an old batch manufacturing process rather than a true BTO model.
