The other dumb thing Bush 1 did was tear up his NRA membership card and call us jackbooted thugs.

Back in the 1990s Tom DeLay used to call the EPA jackbooted thugs.

And Wayne LaPierre of the NRA probably used the term referring to agents of the BATF.

Bush 1 may have resigned from the NRA but I doubt you will find any reference that he ever used that term to refer to the NRA or its members.

it was dumb to tear up his nra card no idea what he was thinking other than maybe to play for more votes from gun control folks. certainly the nra was not going to vote democrat.

i do not remember the nra item but i am sure many of my nra friends do.

isn't governor christy a big supporter of gun control and possibly a future president.
