I imagine lots of Catholics, both practicing and non-, will agree with Noonan that it represents an order to Catholic institutions to stop being Catholic.

Is there a quick easy answer as to why abortion is intolerable to Catholics, but evidently no so intolerable to other Christian religions (Protestants, and whatever)? No one writes that the Episcopalians are going to be really upset about abortion funding - why not?

Also, curious is there anything in the bible that says life (at least life which thou shalt not kill) begins at conception rather than birth? How have the Catholics come to the conclusion that it's conception, while other religions (apparently) have not?

"70% of the priests have spoken against the order from the pulpit. Hugh Hewitt got the reaction of several bishops, who promise civil disobedience if the law is enforced."

First they came for the Catholics...
