Why should the Feds "care" about seniors? Their mandate is to maintain a stable currency and full employment.

Seniors benefit from a stable currency as much as any other group and most of them aren't employed by choice.

The Fed these days seems to be a slave of circumstances which it helped create. The government needs to "borrow" 1.5 Trillion dollars a year, just to keep up with expenses. The Fed MUST create enough money to be able to keep the bond prices high, and rates low. Both the government and the Fed have painted themselves into a corner... from which there may be no exit.
