Steroids ruined all sports.....remember back then no one worked
out all year and 280 was friggin huge.

I didn't realize that Deacon Jones actually coined the term "sack" comparing it to the sacking of a city (wonder how well he did on wonderlic) <g>

Sad that it didn't become an official stat until 1982 because Jones would have been 3rd all time and probably hold the single season record at 26 in only 14 games in 1967 -- 24 in 1968 and 22 in 1964 (all 14-game seasons compared to 16 now)... instead, Strahan officially holds the single season record with just 22.5 in 16 games (2001) and Bruce Smith has all-time record with 200 (194.5 for Jones unofficially would put him 3rd all time)...
