Ashley,

I recall from the last shareholder meeting that the Mirasol booth was located right next to the glass doors of the Qualcomm atrium. The glass doors are part of a huge floor-to-ceiling glass wall of the two-story atrium and, being a gorgeous San Diego day, the bright sunlight was streaming into the atrium. I personally moved the Mirasol display into a shaded portion of the display booth to see how the colors changed in varying degrees of light. The brightness and vibrancy of the display was diminished when I checked it out in a "less bright" spot. I think that Qualcomm might be missing a great marketing angle by not demonstrating Mirasol outdoors. Indeed, when they first had some demo Mirasol displays available some years back, they filmed some marketing videos outdoors at Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego which featured pedestrians near the mall who were shown the display. Their favorable reactions were impressive...not that I would expect any unfavorable reactions to see the light of day in a Mirasol marketing video! But, perhaps the poor / indoor lighting of the various shows where Mirasol has been demonstrated of late plays a large role in the perceived difference in the vibrancy of the colors. It will be interesting to test drive the Mirasol displays at the ASM early next month. --Ryhack
