Look at the recent 'Affordable Care' edict as only one of countless examples. Christ's most basic teaching was that we should live our lives through His example, speaking to others about him more through the way we live than through any other means. And probably the most powerful way He advised us to do that was to reach out to others in need, no matter their own personal beliefs. As far as I know, all Catholic Hospitals offer care to anyone, regardless of their religious beliefs, or lack of them. I know countless people who have had surgeries, or been otherwise cared for, through the Mercy Health System and its member hospitals, the largest Catholic healthcare system in the Delaware valley ... and most of these people are not Catholics. And yet the 'Affordable Care Act', the latest despotic directive being shoved down our throats by this administration, is demanding that Catholic hospitals and healthcare institutions provide contraceptive and sterilization procedures because these institutions are considered, by this administration, to be secular institutions based solely on the fact that they offer care to anyone -- not only Christians . In other words, our president believes that a Christian, or a Christian organization, cannot offer help to non-Christians, and that doing so calls into question their status as a Christian, or a Christian organization. So Catholics are being 'punished' (i.e. labeled as secular ) for simply practicing their religious faith. How much more of this agenda-driven tyranny can this (40+% approval rating, no matter what) president commit before the outrage is equivalent to the crime?
