koan, I am not a knee jerk union bad management bad guy. I do think the labor laws the grant unions an anti trust exemption have been disasterous for America and American workers. Big monopoly unions that can enforce "pattern" agreements have ruined company after company - eg GM. To the extent unions work to prevent abusive labor practices - real ones - they serve a function in balancing power. To the extent they have become criminal extortion syndicates - they are destructive. I wonder if the loony left can even recognize the difference. Perhaps you guys should go commune with the spirit of Jimmy Hoffa for insight. Bob
