SI Rag Business Section: CEO Druss announces new Y2K company.
SI Rag has just learned that Druss owner of Boiler Room Discount Brokerage has announced the formation of a new Year 2000 company.
The new company Year 2000 Bull (Nasdaq BULL) is intended to correct date problems arising in older main frame computers. To save space in the old computers dates were entered in two instead of four digit fields. Complications can arise with the new century looming and computers reading new dates as 1901 instead of 2001.
"We feel we are on a par with any number of the current companys in this field," the new CEO said. "Mitch Blevins worked for over two and a half hours developing our state of the art software. Mitch has assured me that if it finds a two digit field in a program it will do something with it."
Druss then unveiled a sample of code that had been treated with the new software system the company was calling 'Bull Scanner' or BS for short. In a SI RAG exclusive we are including the results:
Inicially the code read: 69 urself
After the BS treatment: go69 urself
"Obviously we are ahead of our competitors in this field," Druss said. Not only did Mitch's program spot the two digits it clarified the original intent, something our many competitors simply cannot do. "However," he added, We are not here to hype our product and make overblown claims for it. We are here to hype our stock so the IPO goes through the roof and Mitch and I can make a fortune on our stock options. We feel canny investors are going to see this as a great opportunity to ream the public yet again with a new Y2K stock."
"Our current plans are to hold long until mid 1999, by then we will have dumped our positions and then we will quit the company so we can short it to the pink sheets."
According to SI Rag market research a number of deep pocket investors are interested in BULL. "It's a real good looking company," said one, "They have some sort of a product and make good unintelligible claims for it, I just want to be reassured they are going to hype this dog as much as they claim."
"The hype is for real," says Druss, "We just need an analyst willing to lie the truth right off the planet. We are pretty sure someone is available. Certainly our competitors have been able to succeed in this area."
