And Now, Time for Java II
techweb.com
So, Corel has switched gears. Office for Java is out; the company will instead
recycle 70 percent of the development work into a network-centric package
code-named Alta. It will include light word processing, spreadsheet, database
and graphics editing components. Scheduled to ship in the summer of 1998,
Alta will still be native Java, but will store its documents in XML format and
provide a user interface you can customize with any HTML editor.
