I wonder how much of the redundancy has to do with it being purely a semantic matter, that we're talking past each other because we are using terms differently. That we are defining wealth differently not only in the terms that we are arguing over, but in almost the entire definition.

Semantic disagreements can often best be worked around by using different terms. Perhaps "wealth" isn't a term that works for the two of us in conversations with each other.
